The Caerphilly 50+ Forum have today (Tuesday 28th April) launched a brand new website, aimed at providing advice and information to older community members about community groups and support available across Caerphilly county borough. The brand new website www.caerphillyover50.co.uk provides a diverse range of information, including details on finance and benefits, transport and mobility, health and wellbeing and fitness and leisure – as well as information on how residents can get involved in activities taking place across the county borough. As well as offering easy access to useful information, the website also offers 50+ residents a platform to get involved and have their say on issues that matter to them. The Caerphilly 50+ Forum also hopes that through the website, more people will sign up to become members. The website was officially unveiled by Iwan Williams, the Communities, Local Government and Wellbeing Officer from the Office of the Older People’s Commissioner Wales at an event held at Bargoed Library. Officers from Get Caerphilly Online were also on hand at the event to provide training sessions to anyone looking to get the most out of their iPad or tablet, as well as sessions on Facebook and Twitter and keeping safe online. The Caerphilly 50+ Forum hope that people and groups will begin to share information, top tips and details of groups and events for inclusion on the website.
